– Clarivate Analytics has named DuPont a 2016 Top Global Innovator for the sixth consecutive year. The program, based on proprietary data, recognizes the most innovative corporations and institutions in the world that shape the future through the development and commercialization of breakthrough technologies.
Krysta Harden joined DuPont in February 2016 as the company’s Vice President of Public Policy and Chief Sustainability Officer. Prior to joining DuPont, she served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she helped to shape national food and agriculture policy.
Global food security continues to improve. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that the number of undernourished people has fallen by 176 million over the past ten years. But almost 800 million people — just over one in nine people — still remain hungry, and food security continues to be one of the major global challenges for the future.
DuPont Pioneer researchers have discovered a protein from a non-Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) bacterium source that exhibits promise as an alternative means for controlling corn rootworm in North America and Europe. Science magazine published the finding this week.
